Dedications disguised as a poem

Stuck in the middle rather than starting

This collection, so you just fell victim

To the stuff most people skip, the boring

Bits, which are easy to do where my friends

Have names that rhymne: Peter/Rita: Emma/

Sweet Gemma: Phil/Gill: Joan/John. No loose ends

With Sue/Lou:Tom Smith/Judith: However,

Not everyone does, just those mentioned;

Pub, family and Fab Cafe regulars

But If followed my inclination

To list you all, I’d be unpopular

With the readers who’d write this off as self-

Indulgent crap that just lists loads of names

That’s if this ever gets to the book shelf.

If not published, no one will ever blame

Me for leaving them out, but just in case
